Textile Work
Exploring the intersection of body, movement, and material, Victoria works on various projects involving textiles. The threads of connection between human tissue and textile tissues inspires her focus on interdisciplinary, somatic practices for oneself, one’s community and our shared environments.

Animate Materials - Performance Project
Animate Materials is a performance project, for people with or without dance training, exploring the intersection of dance and textile art by guiding participants through a 6 week creative process. The project invites participants and viewers to shift their self-perception and perspectives on the material objects we encounter daily. How much do we know about the textiles we use? Could the garments we wear become partners in movement? Can elements of sewing become an outline for creating dance?
Performed in Uferstudios Berlin on February 17th, 2025 through the support of Tanzfabrik Berlin.

MaterialBody - Performance Installation
MaterialBody is an evolving performance installation at the overlap of dance and textile art. The project connects my dance practice with the flexible nature of textiles and transformative possibility of sewing while creating intimate performance experiences, not mediated by traditional stage structures. Cultivating curiosity and attentiveness to the material objects we encounter everyday, including the “material” of the human body, MaterialBody is a physical and performative starting point for reimagining throwaway society while still caring for “the soft animal of your body” (Mary Oliver, “Wild Geese” 2004).
Excerpt performed in TanzART Kirschau on April 27th, 2024 in Schirgiswalde-Kirschau.

#UnderMySkin - Costumes
I designed and coordinated costumes for #UNDERMYSKIN, an interactive dance film by Enrico Paglialunga and Giacomo Corvaia in May 2023. The project looks at how social networks can be exciting, welcoming, and fun, while at the same time they can also be damaging, offensive, and addictive.
Release date OCT 27, 2023. Visit @undermyskin.dance for watch link and current screenings.
